
The seminar on "Crime Against Women – Rape & Molestation", held on 26th March 1996 at the Constitution Club, New Delhi, brought together legal and social experts to address the alarming rise in crimes against women. Smt. Kamla Mankekar highlighted the role of the Women’s Commission in advocating for justice and policy reforms. Prof. Promila Kapur provided sociological insights into the root causes of gender-based violence, while Ms. Rani Jethmalani emphasized the need for stricter legal measures and faster judicial processes to ensure justice for victims. The discussion reinforced the urgent need for stronger legal frameworks, social awareness, and collective action to protect women's rights and dignity.
