Rotary Club of Safdarjung & Delhi Study Group

100 Wheelchairs distributed to Specially Disabled

New Delhi, 3rd Dec 2025: The International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) was observed by Rotary Club of Delhi Safdarjung in association with Delhi Study Group (NGO). 100 wheelchairs were presented to persons with physical disabilities at a public program organized at Arya Samaj Mandir, Greater Kailash, New Delhi. Food & juice was served to all the disabled. At the outset National Anthem was sung.       

Speaking at the event, Chief Guest Dr. Vijay Jolly, President Delhi Study Group and Rtn. Dr. Ravi Gugnani (District Governor RI District 3011) reiterated their long-standing dedication to social welfare measures. Mobility is a basic right. With today’s wheelchair distribution, we hope to help individuals reclaim their independence and participate more fully in their day to day chores stated Dr. Jolly & Dr. Gugnani. They further emphasized the importance of sustained public awareness and community support to improve accessibility for persons with disabilities.

The event was organized to highlight this year’s IDPD theme—“Advancing Access and Dignity for All”—emphasizing the need for collective efforts toward creating an inclusive society where individuals with disabilities can lead empowered and independent lives.

Chairpersons, volunteers, and local community leaders were present during the distribution campaign. Beneficiaries included individuals from low-income households who often face mobility challenges due to financial constraints.

Present on the occasion was Rtn. Teena Kapoor, Club President, Rtn. Tejinder Singh Club Secretary, Rtn. Shobha Tuli, Chairman Community Service, Asst. Governor Rtn. Dr. Madhumati Singh, DGN Rtn. Dr. Pushpa Sethi, IPDG Rtn. Mahesh Trikha, PDG Rtn. Ramesh and District Secretary Rtn. Sandeep Wadhwa. Delhi Study Group Secretary Lion Ram Gopal Goyal, Executive Secretary Vijendar Yadav, Social Media Convener Shalu Kumari & Secretary Heera Majoka were present. Rtn. Mona Puri conducted & compared the program.  

नई दिल्ली, 3 दिसंबर 2025ः रोटरी क्लब दिल्ली सफदरजंग व दिल्ली स्ट्डी ग्रुप (गैर सरकारी संस्था) ने संयुक्त रूप से मिलकर ‘‘अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिव्यांग दिवस’’ मनाया। इसमें 100 दिव्यांगों को व्हीलचेयर भेंट की गई। सभी दिव्यांगों को दोपहर का भोजन परोसा गया। कार्यक्रम का शुभारम्भ राष्ट्रगान से हुआ।  

कार्यक्रम को संबोधित करते हुए मुख्य अतिथि डॉ. विजय जौली अध्यक्ष दिल्ली स्टडी ग्रुप व रोटेरियन जनपद गर्वनर 3011 डॉ. रवि गुगनानी ने समाज कल्याण के लिए अपने लंबे समय से चल रहे समर्पण को दोहराया। चलना-फिरना एक बुनियादी अधिकार है। दोनों ने कहा कि व्हीलचेयर बांटकर हम लोगों की व्यक्तिगत आजादी व रोजाना के नित्य क्रिया कलापों को पूरा करने में मददगार सिद्ध होंगे। डॉ. जौली व डॉ. गुगनानी ने इसके साथ ही दिव्यांग लोगों की पहुंच को बेहतर बनाने के लिए सार्वजनिक जागरूकता व समाज के समर्थन पर बल भी दिया।  

यह कार्यक्रम आईडीपीडी की अवधारणा-‘‘सभी की पहुॅच व सम्मान को आगे बढ़ाने’’ को सर्वविदित करना रहा। इसमें एक ऐसा समाज बनाने के लिए हमसब को मिलकर कोशिश करने की जरूरत पर बल दिया गया, जहॉ दिव्यांग लोग मजबूत और आजाद जिंदगी जी सकें। इस कार्यक्रम में सामाजिक नेता, सदस्य व स्वयंसेवक बड़ी संख्या में उपस्थित रहे। लाभार्थियों में आर्थिक व शारीरिक रूप से पीड़ित व कमजोर वर्ग के दिव्यांग लोग विशेष रूप से उपस्थित रहे।  

इस अवसर पर क्लब अध्यक्षा रोटेरियन टीना कपूर, सचिव तेजिंदर सिंह, चेयरमैन सामुदायिक सेवा शोभा तुली, सहायक गर्वनर डॉ. मधुमती सिंह, डीजीएन डॉ. पुष्पा सेठी, आईपीडीजी महेश त्रिखा, पीडीजी रमेश और डिस्ट्रिक्ट सचिव संदीप वाधवा मौजूद रहे। उनके संग दिल्ली स्ट्डी ग्रुप सचिव लायन राम गोपाल गोयल, कार्यकारी सचिव विजेंदर यादव, सोशल मीडिया संयोजिका शालू कुमारी और सचिव हीरा मजोका भी उपस्थित रहे। कार्यक्रम का संचालन रोटेरियन मोना पुरी ने बाखुबी किया।
